INTRODUCTION/HISTORY:
Salar de Uyuni, a prehistoric lake is situated in southwest of Bolivia at a height of 3656 meters. It is considered as the world largest flat/Playa. Once upon a time there were several lakes at that point which gone dry leaving behind the salt crust upon an area of almost 11000 square kilometres. There are found a number of hexagonal shaped patches which indicates the presence of salt and then its evaporation. The salt, actually the Brine (concentrated salt) is rich of lithium.

Salar de Uyuni, an interesting place is a part of Altiplano and serves as a major transportation route. A number of movies such as The Fall, Star Wars were formed at the beautiful salt crust. So overall its an amazing place to visit and enjoy.
EXACT LOCATION:
Salar de Uyuni, the world largest salt playa is located in Altiplano, a plataeu in southwest of Bolivia, South America. Bolivia has a number of such Salar but Salar de Uyuni is the largest among all those. It is located at Bolivia-Chili boarder.
HOW TO REACH?
La Paz, the capital of Bolivia will be the point where you have to reach first if you are planning to visit the largest salt flat on earth the Salar de Uyuni. You can reach La Paz by air as well which will cost you but it will be the easiest way to reach your first destination. From La Paz you can take Bolivian Hop which will take you nearer to Uyuni. As you have to cross the boarder if you are coming from Peru or Chili then keep your official documents such as CNIC and VISA etc with you to avoid any inconvenience.

If you want to see the largest mirror on earth then believe me, plan your visit to Salar de Uyuni in wet seasons from January to April. It seems a mirror when rain falls on the salty crust, the largest salt flat on earth, so come and see by yourself as this is something worth-seeing phenomenon and can't be explained in words.
